Admissions Coordinator, RNFT

Supervisor: K. Fenior

Eligible for $10,000 Sign-on bonus**

The Hospice RN (Registered Nurse) for Admissions performs pre-admission evaluations to determine the appropriateness of hospice services. Initiates the admission process by educating and informing patients and families of hospice and its services. This position will work full-time hours which may include weekends and/or holidays.

Requirements: Must have an active Florida RN License, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.


Clinical Educator, RN – FT

Supervisor: L. Strickland

Eligible for $10,000 Sign-on bonus**

The RN clinical educator works collaboratively with individuals and groups, acting as a resource and utilizing creative teaching methods, to meet the educational needs of the organization. The role includes developing, evaluating, and timely updating of educational programs and plans to include: orientation, preceptorships, individual tutorials, skills practice sessions, certification review courses, the electronic medical record, and specific identified educational needs. The RN clinical educator cross-trains with other training and development staff, including the manager, to be able to perform all duties as needed.

Requirements: An active Florida RN license, valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance are required. Hospice experience, clinical nurse educator certification, nursing educator masters, and/or CHPN preferred.


Grief Support CounselorFT

Supervisor: K. Solberger

Eligible for $5,000 Sign-on bonus**

This is a full-time position that provides grief counseling, support, and grief education to hospice families and community members. Excellent skills needed in conducting assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, public speaking, resource management, networking, and referral. Requires ability to work individually and as part of the hospice team. This position also works as a liaison within the community for the purpose of scheduling grief groups and events. This position required a high degree of skill in working with youth and adults, individuals, and groups in a variety of settings.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field and willingness to travel. Some evening work may be required.


Healthcare Facilities Marketer – FT

Supervisor: S. Davidson

The Professional Healthcare Liaison (Marketer) serves as a representative for BBH and its affiliates with assigned Physicians and other Healthcare members seeking to ensure ease of access to hospice care; reporting any issues to internal key stakeholders in a professional and consistent manner and aiding in resolutions.  In this role, you will work to identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with physicians and those in the healthcare community.

Requirements: BA/BS in public relations, communications, or a related field and/or a minimum of two years experience in marketing, sales, or related field; preferably in healthcare.


Music Therapist Internship Director

Supervisor: S. Droessler

This Board-Certified Music Therapist will provide care to patients in the assigned BBH Service Area and act as the primary supervisor and AMTA-approved Internship Director for the Music Therapy Internship Program. Clinical responsibilities include planning, implementing, and documenting music therapy interventions with hospice patients/family members from a variety of age groups, working as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with other staff, and all duties as typically assigned to clinical MT-BCs. MT Internship Director duties include but are not limited to communication with/reporting to academic program directors, AMTA AIAC representatives, students, presentations, coordination of training and schedules, and all other related duties. Also orienting, training, supervision, and mentoring MT interns, overseeing intern documentation, competencies, development, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Occasional evening or weekend hours for community events and bereavement groups as assigned. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance are required. MT-BC (Music Therapist board certified) certification through the Certification Board for Music therapists (CBMT) Strong musical skills, clinical understanding, a minimum of 2 years of on-site hospice experience, site-specific experience with training students, and experience with electronic medical record system documentation required.


Nurse Practitioner- APRNDozier Hospice House – FT

Supervisor: N. Shuchak

Eligible for $15,000 Sign-on bonus**

This is a full-time nurse practitioner (NP) position. The NP will work in collaboration with the Hospice Physician and Hospice interdisciplinary team (IDT) to provide hospice services to patients and families in an inpatient, home, or facility setting.

Responsibilities include: maintaining a regular schedule of clinical participation for the BBH Service area and sharing call schedules with other medical providers to provide 24-hour, 7-day/week coverage for BBH patients; performing face-to-face visits as part of the (re)certification process, and helping develop and implement plans of care; assist in developing management plans for pain and other symptoms; perform required documentation and provide education to patient/families. Performs other duties as requested by the Medical Director and/or CEO. Stays abreast of all state and federal regulations/statutes and licensure requirements.

Requirements: Must have a current APRN License and a Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. BLS is also required and 1 year of APRN experience is preferred. Previous Hospice experience is also preferred.


Payroll/Benefits AdministratorFT

Supervisor: T. Cardosi

The Payroll/Benefits Administrator will be responsible for coordinating and performing all aspects of the company payroll function in compliance with company policies, federal and multi-state laws. This position will assist the Accounting department with some Accounts Payable and Cash responsibilities.

Requirements: 5 years of current experience in payroll & benefits administration. An Accounting Degree or certificate from a college or technical school is preferred. Experience with payroll, Kronos, UKG, or similar system preferred. Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws and benefit plans. Thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll- and benefits-related laws and requirements, including but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA/HITECH, PPACA, FMLA, FLSA, Internal Revenue Code Section 125, and payroll tax laws are required. Although a high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement for this position, an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting is preferred.


Professional Healthcare Liaison – FT

The Professional Healthcare Liaison serves as a link between Big Bend Hospice and the communities it serves. In this role, you will work to Identify, cultivate, and maintain community partnerships by representing Big Bend Hospice at civic, social, and professional organizations in assigned counties. You will Serve as the marketing liaison with all assigned physicians, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities. You will also manage advisory councils in assigned counties to help them develop a strategic marketing plan for their community to help build census, recruit volunteers, and provide hospice education.

Requirements: BA/BS in public relations, communications, or a related field and/or a minimum of two years experience in marketing, public relations, or related field; preferably in healthcare.


Referral Specialist – FT  

Supervisor: H. Robison

Eligible for $5,000 Sign-on bonus**

This is a full-time position that will work rotating weekends and holidays. Experience with medical supplies, records, and terminology is preferred. Responsible for referral calls concerning hospice care and process requests for information and visits by Admission Specialists.

Requirements: Must be highly organized with excellent communication skills with 3-5 years of administrative experience in a healthcare environment including insurance verification and/or medical billing.


RN Hospice House – FT – Days

This position will work primarily nights in the Hospice House including weekends and holidays.

Requirements: Must have a current Florida RN license and a minimum of 3 years RN/LPN experience preferably in home health or hospice.


Social WorkerFTAdmissions

Full-time social work position that is responsible for pre-admission evaluations to determine appropriateness for hospice services. Provides education, counseling, and information to patients and families re: hospice and its services and coordinates with hospice/hospital staff as needed re: pt/family needs.

Requirements: Must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, LCSW preferred. Two years of home health, hospital, or hospice experience preferred.


Social Worker – FT

Supervisor: K. Solberger

Eligible for $5,000 Sign-on bonus**

Responsibilities include active and cooperative engagement with members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate optimal patient and family coordination of care. Provision of psychosocial assessments to support the expressed wishes of patients/families and identify unanticipated needs to help patients/families make informed decisions. Empower patients and families through the provision of education related to end-of-life care, advanced directives, long-term care planning, safety, and financial benefits to which a patient or caregiver may be entitled.

Requirements: Full-time social work position. Must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, LCSW preferred. Two years of home health or hospice experience is preferred.


Spiritual Care Counselor – FT

Supervisor: K. Snow

Eligible for $5,000 Sign-on bonus**

This position is responsible for providing spiritual counseling and support to hospice patients and families in accordance with the plan of care. Duties include documentation on the plan of care, counseling and spiritual support to hospice patients and families, attending team meetings and participating in treatment planning, and networking with community clergy to share information about hospice services as assigned. Will be required to complete ongoing education requirements and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements: This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work well with diverse groups and diverse healthcare systems, and to adapt to a variety of changing circumstances and settings. Denominational or faith community endorsement is strongly preferred. Must have a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent (i.e. M.A.C.E., M.A.T.S., Th. M) from an accredited seminary or theological school and Clinical Pastoral Education within a health care setting (1 unit minimum required, 4 units preferred).
