Honor a Loved One

Of all the promises we make to those we love and those we hold dear, the promise to remember them is always the most meaningful. Big Bend Hospice Foundation offers several ways for you to honor or remember your special loved one.

Brick Paver Ceremonies

Become a lasting part of the beauty and peaceful tranquility of our gardens and walkways by purchasing a paver in honor or in memory of a loved one.

Pavers are a wonderful way to honor grandchildren, celebrate a birthday, anniversary or any other special occasion. Most importantly, they create a lasting tribute for someone special.

End of Year Letter

Each year, one family shares their personal story about the impact Big Bend Hospice made while caring for their loved one. The funds raised from this heartfelt letter go directly to providing exceptional compassionate care to patients and families on their journey.

This year, Jay Smith shares the touching story of his father Doug.

Memorial Gifts

Remember a loved one by making a special donation in their memory. Every dollar of your gift remains in our community helping to support the ongoing needs of hospice patients and their families and ensures that no one has to die alone or without the care they need.

The mission of the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care – the only one of its kind in Tallahassee – is to provide high quality, compassionate care for patients and families facing serious illness as they transition from hospital to hospice care.

It takes a village to accomplish something so remarkable, and we are incredibly grateful to our supporters who have donated to the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care.

Planned Giving

We all want to build a legacy that reflects our beliefs and values and creates a lasting impact. A planned gift from you to Big Bend Hospice will allow the compassionate care we provide to continue benefiting our community for many years to come. Together, we can accomplish the extraordinary.

A planned gift lasts long beyond a lifetime. It allows you to fulfill your dreams and wishes to help Big Bend Hospice for generations to come. Your generosity allows our organization’s mission to continue as “we inspire hope by positively impacting the way our community experiences serious grief or illness – one family at a time.”

Planned gifts can be an important element of your — and your family’s — overall financial, philanthropic, and estate planning.

Leaving a Legacy of Hope

Our success depends on the vision and generosity of individuals like you who choose to make a gift that will benefit future generations. You can impact lives, even after your own, by remembering Big Bend Hospice Foundation in your estate and financial planning. Together, we can accomplish the extraordinary.

Wills and Trusts

Make a gift of future support for Big Bend Hospice Foundation by including us in your will or trust. This option allows you to maintain full control over your assets while you are living and may reduce your estate taxes.

Publicly Traded Securities

Publicly traded securities can be used to make an outright charitable gift to BBH. If you give appreciated assets that you have held longer than one year, you are entitled to a charitable income tax and you may also be able to defer or completely avoid capital gains tax.

Life Insurance

You can make BBH the beneficiary of a life insurance policy and your estate will receive a charitable deduction or you may, under certain circumstances, make BBH the owner of a life insurance policy on your life, and receive an income tax charitable deduction.

Consult with your financial advisor to choose the plan that is right for you. With wise planning now, you can ensure a lasting legacy after your lifetime.
