Being Mortal
BEING MORTAL with Charles Hyde 5:30 - 7:30 at Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. We will watch the documentary together then discuss the stories, the issues, and your own feelings and experience.
Camp Woe-Be-Gone 2021
EVENT POSTPONED Due to the rising cases of Covid infections in our area, we are postponing the camp to a future date (TBA). Big Bend Hospice Youth Bereavement is excited to announce the return of Camp Woe-Be-Gone at Bradley’s Pond in Tallahassee on Thursday, July 29th, 2021. We invite youth aged 6 to 12 from Leon, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla, Taylor, Jefferson, and Madison Counties that have experienced the death of someone important to them to join us for this special retreat. Trained grief counselors and volunteers will lead campers through support activities including creative arts, movement, group discussion, and a special remembrance ceremony. A light breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided as well as an official camp T-shirt and special prizes. Transportation for campers will be available from the Big Bend Hospice office in Tallahassee to Bradley’s Pond. Space is limited at this FREE Event. Registration is Required! Alzheimers – Dementia and other related disorders (ADRD TRAINING)
Join us Tuesday Aug 10th for ALZHEIMERS-DEMENTIA AND OTHER RELATED DISORDERS (ADRD TRAINING) with Geno Santopadre from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at Big Bend Hospice (1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee) This is a one-time course mandated by the State of Florida. This presentation emphasizes understanding and approaches to use when caring for patients with impaired cognition providing specific suggestions that are appropriate for each state of dementia.

Vigil Training
Join us Tuesday Aug 24th VIGIL TRAINING with Betty Morales from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm This presentation covers the physical and spiritual events of imminent death. Anyone can take this class, but you must take it to be on the vigil team.
