Does your child need a safe and supportive space to talk about the death of someone special? Big Bend Hospice is here for you, free of charge and open to the youth in our community. Big Bend Hospice offers a free monthly support group for kids ages 6-12. The loss does not have to be recent for a child to benefit from participating. Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 23rd, from 5:30-6:30pm in the cozy Family Room at the Jean McCully Family House, next to the Margaret Z. Dozier House.   This group is a safe space for children to share their feelings, ask questions, and learn healthy ways to cope with grief. This month's theme is the "Dog Days of Summer," inspired by the famous Blue Dog artwork by George Rodrigue. We are also excited to welcome Tallahassee Memorial Animal Therapy Program as part of the evening’s activities.   This event is free and open to the community. Big Bend Hospice offers a monthly grief support group just for teens. Trained grief counselors lead the group in a safe space where you can talk openly, learn healthy ways to cope with your grief and connect with others. Here's what you can expect: A safe and welcoming space: Share your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Learn about grief: Understand what's normal and get tips for coping. Connect with others: Meet other teens who get what you're going through. Get support from professionals: Trained grief counselors guide the group. Are you interested in becoming a Hospice Volunteer? No prior experience needed— just an open heart and a desire to help.   Volunteers provide companionship, emotional support, respite care for caregivers, assist with small tasks in the home, and more.  Event Details:  Date: Saturday, September 28th Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm Prefer online? We invite community teens to attend our Teen Night this evening at Big Bend Hospice and to check out upcoming holiday support sessions including the November Family Feast of Remembrance and December Hope for the Holidays.
