October Teen Night
Big Bend Hospice provides a safe and compassionate place each month to support grieving teens. This group is open to high school students whether or not their loved one was cared for by Big Bend Hospice. Please note that the death does not have to be recent for a teen to benefit from this group, but it may not be appropriate for teens that have experienced a very recent (3 months or less) or traumatic loss. All sessions are provided by professional grief counselors and trained volunteers. Monday, October 2 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Conference Room C Space is limited, registration is required. Based on the excellent guide and training created by the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers, you will learn how to better understand dementia, manage challenging behaviors, handle stress, and find time for self-care. During this training you will learn more about: Understanding Dementia Managing Problem Behaviors Handling Stress Finding Time for You Featuring Trained Facilitator: Sharon Davidson LSSGB - Big Bend Hospice Senior Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a free 300-page manual, Dealing with Dementia: A Caregiver’s Guide, from the Rosalynn Carter Institute which offers information and solutions to problems caregivers face daily.
