Support for Big Bend Hospice Families
No matter how long a loved one was in our care, our bereavement team reaches out to the designated primary caregiver to offer grief support. Other family members or caregivers may also request bereavement care at any time.
Those receiving BBH bereavement support can:
- Access services for up to 13 months after their loved one’s passing, ensuring support through the “year of firsts.” This includes individual grief counseling for youth.
- Receive one-on-one or family counseling at home, in a BBH office, or by phone.
- Have priority access to our grief support groups.
- Experience therapeutic care through services like Therapeutic Touch and Rendever Virtual Reality sessions.
- Utilize all BBH Bereavement Services listed below.

As a proud part of our community, Big Bend Hospice offers grief support to individuals, schools, and organizations whenever possible.
Bereavement Services for Adults
- Grief presentations & workshops on coping and healing.
- In-person grief support groups for connection and shared healing.
- Bereavement Buddy Walks (monthly) for reflection and community.
- Grief Tips for the Newly Bereaved (monthly Zoom session).
- Mother’s Day Grief Workshop
- Father’s Day Grief Workshop
- Grief resources & referrals tailored to individual needs.
- Holiday grief support workshops to provide comfort during spring and winter holidays.

For more than 30 years, Big Bend Hospice has been dedicated to supporting grieving children and teens through:
- Monthly Children’s Nights at our main campus.
- School-based grief support groups in rotating locations.
- Camp Woe-Be-Gone—our annual day camp for grieving children.
- Grief resources designed for children, teens, and guardians.
- Holiday grief support workshops held alongside adult sessions.
