July 2024 Children’s Grief Support Group
BBH Jean McCully Family House – Great Room 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL, United StatesDoes your child need a safe and supportive space to talk about the death of someone special? Big Bend Hospice is here for you, free of charge and open to the youth in our community. Big Bend Hospice offers a free monthly support group for kids ages 6-12. The loss does not have to be recent for a child to benefit from participating. Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 23rd, from 5:30-6:30pm in the cozy Family Room at the Jean McCully Family House, next to the Margaret Z. Dozier House. This group is a safe space for children to share their feelings, ask questions, and learn healthy ways to cope with grief. This month's theme is the "Dog Days of Summer," inspired by the famous Blue Dog artwork by George Rodrigue. We are also excited to welcome Tallahassee Memorial Animal Therapy Program as part of the evening’s activities. This event is free and open to the community. Registration is required for the initial session. Contact Whitney Snow at (850) 878-5310 or wsnow@bigbendhospice.org for more information or to register.
