New Rules for End of Life Care

Caring for someone as they approach the end of their life is not the same as caring for someone who is going to get better. Unfortunately, most people don't know this. Often the natural processes that occur during the last stages of dying are not fully understood by caregivers and families. This award-winning documentary from Barbara Karnes, RN, end-of-life educator, and hospice pioneer, & panel discussion with Big Bend Hospice experts will address changes in the dying person as they pertain to eating, sleeping, and managing pain. Knowledge can reduce the fear and anxieties surrounding the dying process and helps with grieving. Whether the person is at home, at a nursing home, or in a hospital, this presentation will give you valuable information to understand and care for your loved one in this "final stage of living." Join us for an award-winning documentary from Barbara Karnes, RN, end-of-life educator, and hospice pioneer, & panel discussion with Big Bend Hospice experts! We have limited seating please reserve your seat today by contacting Kelly Williams, BBH Community Engagement Coordinator at (850) 878-5310 or emailing kswilliams@bigbendhospice.org (this presentation is open to BBH volunteers and clergy. Lunch will be provided)
